Shayne Oliver’s designs have been so far the most interesting and captivating designs on NYFW. These clothes are so irresistibly dark and provoking, that it almost felt that the show is in Paris, now New York. These clothes are not for everyone, they are for a very particular group of people with panache and real edge who are not afraid of pushing boundaries. I really, really loved this collection, it reminded me of Anne Demeulemeester, Yohji Yamamoto, and Rick Owens – the fashion shows that have an almost cult following. These are street clothes for the real americans today, in light of what has been happening, the youth is growing up in a dark environment and these clothes are a great reflection of our times. It has amazing honesty that is very powerful. This is a very special moment in American fashion.
