From the very first collection Mary Katrantzou’s clothes had a signature: very loud prints. She has achieved what any young designer could only dream of, an instant recognizability and a very strong point of view. I do not know if I am brave enough to wear her clothes, but I do admire her mastery of prints. She knows that such loud colors call for structured clothes in simple and muted shapes. She combines print and embellishments and somehow manages to make it just right as opposed to too much and therefore tacky. I would take the look apart and wear just the jacket with a cashmere or silk T-shirt and simple black skinny trousers with a stiletto.
